Inspiring contemporary music across borders: New partnerships

We are excited to announce the launch of two new partnerships over the period 2025 to 2027, between the Nordics, the Baltics and Scotland, designed to strengthen the ties between our vibrant music communities and promote new music across the broader Nordic-Baltic landscape.

Born from fruitful networking at Nordic Music Days 2024 and acting on the recommendations of the NMD 2024 impact report, the partnerships reflect our shared commitment to fostering stronger connections and align perfectly with our strategic goals to promote new music and enhance cultural exchange.

In 2024, Nordic Music Days commissioned an independent evaluation with Tialt as cultural learning and reflection partners of the festival to:
•Explore the cultural value of the festival
•Describe the cultural impact of the shared creative processes
•Explore NMD more broadly as a platform for cultural exchange and artistic innovation that embeds sustainability

The enriching international collaboration with Scotland offered an opportunity for reflection on Nordic Music Days’ role as a festival within the Nordics as well as with an international community to inspire contemporary music across borders. The summary report explores the impact of the Nordic Music Days collaboration for cultural exchange, artistic innovation and embedding sustainability in the international cultural sector.

“Making, experiencing, sharing, talking about and thinking about music and sound brings people together.. to make more sense of all that we are and want to be.”
