Nordic Music Days will return to Helsinki from 10 - 13 November 2027.
The 2027 edition continues to build on the 2024 collaboration between Scotland and the Nordics, and welcomes our Baltic colleagues through a partnership with Baltic Music Days 2027. We are excited to join forces with BMD for a day of programming in Tallinn on 11 November.
The festival program will be curated by a five-member curator team: David Fennessy from Scotland, Jana Winderen from Norway, Juhani Nuorvala from Finland, Kajsa Antonsson from Sweden, and Þráinn Hjálmarsson from Iceland.
The team is curious about where contemporary sound and music are at and wishes to make a festival that echoes what is going on across the Nordics, Baltics and Scotland. The festival is primarily programmed via an open call. The call closed on the 24th August 2026 with 680 submissions - a record!
The ambition is to build long-lasting, sustainable partnerships across the greater Nordic region, the Baltics and Scotland and between musical organisations, communities and creative individuals.

For 2027 the Finnish Society of Composers acts as local producer and anchor and the Danish Composers Society acts as project manager. Previous Festival editions were in Glasgow, Scotland 2024 and Reykjavik, Iceland 2022. The Festival last took place in Finland in 2018.
