“Surrounded by Strangers” is composed and staged by Eyvind Gulbrandsen. The singers are performing in an open space where the audience can walk around and experience it as an installation. The choir is composed of amateur singers that have participated in a choir workshop with Eyvind Gulbrandsen.

Eyvind Gulbrandsen is a composer-in-residency with The South Iceland Chamber Choir. He develops his piece working with themed personal stories of the choir members, teased out using literary prompts, to create a sense of ownership of the music and lyrics they perform.
