28 September – 1 October 2017
Southbank Centre | Royal Festival Hall, Riverside Terrace
Visit the Northern Lights Musical Sculpture, created by british artist and instrument maker Paul Jefferies, and have a go at playing it yourself. For Nordic Music Days 2017, Paul has created this public sculpture and musical instrument, inspired by the Northern Lights aka the Aurora Borealis.
Construction of the large-scale outdoor visual, music and sound installation begins on Thursday 28th September. Audiences are invited to watch the work being created, and at times join together to play it or see performances on it.
Full schedule of playing and performance times will become available nearer the event time.
In this short film he talks about the project and shows some of his sketches. Read more about Paul Jefferies here.
