Ilona Korhonen

Ilona Korhonen (b. 1972 in Finland) is a female musician dedicated to folk music and involved in all kinds of music, mostly vocal. She has studied at the Sibelius Academy Department of Music Education and she became Master of Music in 2003. In 2014 she won the national folk music contest ”Konsta Jylhä” in Kaustinen. She gives concerts all around Europe, performing at the moment mostly as a runo-singing soloist. 

At Nordic Music Days 2017 Ilona will perform Finnish Runosongs with Pekka Kuusisto on 28 September at 9:45 PM.
