Bergrún (b. 1987) is an Icelandic composer/performer based in Reykjavík/Oakland. While working in many mediums she often turns to personally designed notation systems, in order to recreate perceived metaphysical structures that have a basis in empirical observations on relations and causalities. Her work has been performed in Europe, Australia and in the United States by groups such as the Oslo Philharmonic (NO), Decibel (AUS) and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra (IS). As a performer she has a diverse background, having toured and recorded with bands like Sigur Rós and Björk as well as being a performer of new music. She is currently a M.A. student in composition at Mills College, CA.

Nordic Music Days 2017 presents her work The cancerous cell, performed by Distractfold at "Nordic forests", 29 September 2017, at 6:00 and 9:00.
